Joe DePaola
As a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, I specialize in helping individuals navigate a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, psychotic disorders, and personality challenges. My background spans years of clinical research at Harvard University’s McLean Hospital and hands-on experience in acute inpatient psychiatric units at McLean and New York Presbyterian – Columbia University Medical Center. Prior to joining Rivia, I dedicated four years to providing psychiatric care to underserved communities in Brooklyn.
My approach to care is grounded in empathy, trust, and genuine understanding. I don’t rely on a single treatment modality; instead, I integrate techniques from CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, and supportive psychotherapy. This flexible approach allows me to tailor treatment plans to meet your unique needs and goals.
With my foundation in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, I offer a comprehensive perspective on mental health treatment. Whether you're managing the weight of a mood disorder, grappling with anxiety, or seeking clarity in life’s complexities, I am here to provide support and guidance. Together, we’ll work to build self-awareness and develop practical tools to help you face challenges with confidence.
You deserve a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. My goal is to create an environment where you can explore, heal, and grow at your own pace.
